Cohiba bedeutet in der Sprache der cubanischen Ureinwohner „Zigarre“. Mit der dreifach fermentierten Auswahl von Tabaken aus der Vuelta Abajo markieren Cohibas die Spitze der Habanos und damit auch die Weltspitze der Zigarren. Die Serie „Linea 1492“ erinnert an die Entdeckung Amerikas durch Kolumbus. Kakaotöne, sanft-ledrige Düfte und süßlich-nussige Aromen verschmelzen zu einem vollen, havanna-typischen Rauchgenuß. Sie ist etwas kräftiger als die Siglo I, mit deutlicherer Röstaromatik und spürbaren Tannine - sehr ausgewogen und edel.

Kenner bevorzugen dazu ausgereiften Rum oder weiche, malzige Whiskys. Ein interessantes Wechselspiel ergibt sich jedoch auch durch Kombination mit Kaffeegetränken.
